LED Light Bulbs
LED light bulbs use a light emitting diode, and provide the most efficient form of lighting technology. A typical incandescent 40W light bulb provides around 400 lumens of brightness, but the same light can be produced by an LED light bulb using just 6 or 7 watts of power. The other advantages of this technology can be seen in the expected lifespan and performance, as LED light bulbs have an average lifespan of 50,000 hours compared with just 1,000 hours for incandescent bulbs and around 6,000 hours for compact fluorescent bulbs. LEDs also produce less heat than the two other technologies, and can use as little as 10% less electricity, making them the preferred economical choice of light bulbs.
